Magruder Elementary School
Virginia’s York County School Division was looking to integrate Direct Digital Controls (DDC) for Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) to provide improved user control at Magruder Elementary School.
Energy Savings
The VLD units allows the school to apply energy management protocols to the VRF, such as dynamic cooling, heating and night setback.
Improved Efficiency
The controls programmer developed a powerful and reliable way to provide DDC for VRF.
Increased Capabilities
Features a combined sensor/controller with temperature and humidity sensors and an easy-to-use interface.
To provide more robust and consistent wall controllers, the VRF was integrated with Alerton’s Visual Logic Display (VLD) 362 programmable wall sensor displays. The BACnet-enabled VLD provides the direct digital control (DDC) that is commonly lacking with VRF wall sensor displays.
The integrated solution addressed the limits of the VRF wall units. Further, because the VLD is programmable, unlike many VRF manufacturer supplied wall controllers, the VLD opens the possibility to control a host of HVAC equipment, along with site lighting, exhaust fans, heaters and other energy loads.
